At the SEJRA we want to offer our racers the opportunity to run the wheels off their racecars. In 2013 we will be contesting 12.90/8.90/7.90 Index Classes, 8&9/10-12/13-17 Age Groups, $1,000 All-Run Bracket Races, and a Quick 16 class. All of these classes will be run for points, with the except of Quick 16, and a Champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the season. NHRA and IHRA E.T. and MPH restrictions will be enforced in all classes. The only exception is at IHRA events, in an effort to make it easier on racers we will stick to the 12.90 Index at all events. However, racers wanting to go as quick as 11.90 in the All-Run and Age Group classes may do so. Also, 12 year olds wanting to race 7.90 at IHRA events may do so but they must run in 13-17 Age Group on Sunday. No 7.90 cars will be permitted to run in 10-12 Age Group. 2013 Weekend Schedule Friday Gates Open 4 p.m. Test-N-Tune 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday Gates Open 8 a.m. Index Time Trials/Quick 16 Qualifying begin 9 a.m. $1,000 All-Run Bracket Race to begin at the conclusion of Index Racing. Sunday Gates Open 8 a.m. Age Group/$1,000 All Run Bracket begin 9 a.m.
2013 Class Breakdown Index For 2013 the SEJRA will be contesting 3 Index Classes on Saturdays: 12.90, 8.90, and 7.90. The Index Groups will be run on a .500 Pro Tree, 1/8th mile, Index format. The 12.90 Index will remain at a 12.90 e.t. at all races this year regardless of track sanction. This will allow racers to know what to expect at each race. Payouts: $200 W, $100 R/U, $50 Semi's Entry: $35 10 Car Minimum per class for it to be a paying class. Age Group Bracket Racing is the back-bone of the SEJRA. This season we are going to have 3 different Age Group Bracket Classes: 8 & 9 Year Olds, 10-12 Year Olds, and 13-17 Year Olds. These classes will be the bracket racing your use to, but against some of the toughest competition the South-East has to offer. Racers will earn points at each event, with a class champion being crowned at the end of the season. The 8 & 9 Year Olds may run as quick, but not quicker, than 11.90 at events run at IHRA tracks. All 12 Year Olds are permitted to run as quick, but not quicker, than 7.90 at events run at IHRA tracks. However, on Sunday they must bump up to the 13-17 Age Group. No cars running quicker than 8.90 will be permitted in the 10-12 Age Group. Payouts: $200 W, $100 R/U, and $50 Semi's Entry: $35 10 Car Minimum per class for it to be a paying class. $1,000 All-Run Bracket Race Like our Age Groups, this race will be a standard bracket class. However, it is an every man for himself event. All racers will be brought together for a chance at a big payday. We will contest this class Saturday Night after the Index Classes have been completed and Sunday during the program. This gives all our racers an opportunity to take home 2 large purses. It is tough to enforce E.T. restrictions in a class like this. Although we will not be patrolling the pit area looking for racers running under their E.T. limits, if it is brought to a track or SEJRA officials attention that someone is running to fast that person will immediately be disqualified from the class. All points and earning to that point will be forfeited by the racer. Please help us make this a fun and exciting class in 2013 by staying within your E.T. limits. At IHRA events 8 & 9 Year Olds may run as quick as 11.90. At IHRA events 12 Year Olds may run as quick as 7.90. Payouts: $1,000 W, $150 R/U, and $50 Semi's Entry: $50 25 Car Minimum for this race to happen. Quick 16 Our Quick 16 class is new for the 2013 season. It will be run in conjunction with the Saturday portion of our events. This class will be a bracket race run on a 330 ft racing surface. It will match the 16 quickest cars up against each other in a quickest of the quick bracket race. Cars will qualify and then be placed on a 16 Car Sportsman Ladder. This class will be an exhibition class for 2013, with no points being awarded. That allows us to make small change throughout the season to make this class the best it can be, without the fear of hurting someone's standings in points. Payouts: $200 W, $100 R/U, $50 Semi's Entry: $35
